The Cougars are rolling.
Clay-Chalkville won three games in as many days to win the Jefferson County Tournament on Friday at Hueytown High School
.
The Cougars (19-5) slipped past Center Point 54-50 in the championship game to earn the title. Senior guard Marcus Baldwin led all scorers with 25 points, taking most valuable player honors with him. Darius Jordan added 10 points in the win.

Clay-Chalkville had defeated Minor 61-55 in overtime last Thursday in the semifinal round. Senior Cory Judkins led the Cougars with 16 points in that game. Sophomore point guard Hasan Abdullah scored 12, and Sean Burrell and Cedric Barnes had 10 each.
Clay-Chalkville opened the tournament with a 53-43 win over Gardendale. Judkins led the team in scoring with 16 in that game.
Pinson Valley finished third in the tournament, notching wins over Shades Valley and Minor. The Indians’ lone loss came in a down-to-the-wire semifinal game against Center Point. Senior guard Marcus Merriweather led all scorers in that game with 22 points.
