A man killed in a motorcycle crash Monday night has been identified as a Clay man.
Michael Allen Patton, 37, was killed in the head-on collision with another car at Clay-Palmerdale Road and Stone Briar Trace, said Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Bill Yates.
The crash happened about 6:40 p.m. Monday, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. The motorcycle driver was dead on the scene, said Chief Deputy Randy Christian.
Three others were injured in the crash. An adult female driver was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital. An 8-year-old female passenger in the car was airlifted to Children’s Hospital
. A 5-year-old male passenger in the car was transported by ambulance to Children’s.
Christian said Tuesday that the adult female and her 5-year-old son have been released from the hospital. The 8-year-old daughter remains in stable condition at the hospital and is expected to recover, Christian said.
Preliminary information indicates the driver of the motorcycle was traveling west on Clay-Palmerdale Road when he attempted to pass approximately four vehicles, Christian said. The motorcycle collided with a vehicle that was traveling east.
