Clay-Chalkville senior forward Larian Scott scored a game-high 18 points and led the Lady Cougars to a 56-21 win over rival Hewitt-Trussville on senior night Friday.
Clay-Chalkville (25-3) led the entire game.
Sophomore point guard Kristian Hudson and senior Bria Bethea had 13 points each. Senior forward Briona Haywood scored four points, grabbed eight rebounds and blocked five shots.
“She’s a good leader for us,” Clay-Chalkville head coach Todd Carlile said of Haywood. “She’s just been real stable for us.”
Clay-Chalkville connected on seven 3-pointers against Hewitt-Trussville — three each from Scott and Bethea, and one from Hudson.
The Lady Cougars managed to make just 10 of 22 shots from the free throw line.
For Hewitt-Trussville, Morgan McLain scored eight points
. Dee Dee Jones scored five points. Skylar Reaves scored just three points but pulled down a game-high nine rebounds. Leigh McAnally grabbed seven rebounds off the bench.
