Hewitt-Trussville High School senior Austin Wolverton has won Go Build Alabama’s Future Skilled Workers of America Award for January.
The award honors one high school junior or senior each month and was created to recognize and encourage high school students who plan to pursue careers in the construction industry. Wolverton wins a $1,000 scholarship to a training facility in Alabama that will allow him to further his education in construction.
“I love construction work, and I believe that I will be a good asset to the industry,” Wolverton said.
Wolverton studies electrical construction. He is a member of SkillsUSA and plans to pursue an apprenticeship after graduating from high school
