Here’s a breakdown of what to expect from National Signing Day in our coverage area:
Pinson Valley
Wide receiver Earnest Robinson will sign his national letter of intent with Auburn University. Robinson, a four-star prospect, has been committed to the Tigers for nearly a year.
Linebacker Zach Cunningham will likely choose from Auburn, Vanderbilt, Tennessee and Oregon. Cunningham, also a four-star prospect, is one of the top uncommitted prospects in the state.
Pinson Valley’s signing ceremony is at 2 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
Clay-Chalkville
Wide receiver DeAndre Woods will sign with Vanderbilt. Woods, a 6-foot-3 three-star prospect, also has offers from UAB, Southern Miss, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, USC and Purdue.
Running back Kenterrius Gray will sign with Delta State in Cleveland, Miss. Gray was offered the scholarship Monday and committed the same day. Cougars head coach Jerry Hood expects the 5-foot-11, 215-pound Gray will start as a freshman in Delta State’s new offense, which uses a fullback.
Linebacker Brandon Fuller and safety T.J. McCollum will sign with UAB. The teammates have played together since seventh grade. Hood said McCollum is a versatile player who could play in the secondary or as a linebacker at UAB.
Clay-Chalkville’s signing ceremony is at 1:45 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
Hewitt-Trussville
Offensive lineman Casey Dunn is expected to sign with Jacksonville State. Dunn also garnered interest from Delta State, Samford, Birmingham-Southern College, Mercer and Georgia State.
Defensive back Luke Davis may make a college decision. Davis has an Alcorn State offer and visited Jacksonville State last week. Western Kentucky and Austin Peay have expressed interest. Davis has also visited Mississippi State and Ole Miss and could walk on at either of those SEC schools
.
No word yet on a time when a possible signing ceremony may be at Hewitt-Trussville.
