ACTA Theatre’s winter production, “Arsenic and Old Lace,” by Joseph Kesselring with Suellen Wilkins directing, opens Friday.
Performance dates are Friday, Saturday and Feb. 22-23 at 7 p.m. Matinees are Sunday and Feb. 24 at 2:30 p.m. Call 205-655-3902 for reservations. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for senior adults and $8 for all students.
Sally Montgomery and Erica Egan portray Abby and Martha Brewster; Cliff Keen Jr. and Allen Hammack portray the nephews, Mortimer and Jonathan, and Jeremy Soileau is the nephew who thinks he’s Teddy Roosevelt. Other cast members include Danny White (Dr. Einstein), Judy Wilson (Elaine), Ed Potts (Rev. Harper), Tommy Riley (Officer Brophy), Wendy Riley (Officer Klein), Lonzell Wilson (Officer O’Hara), Ron Landry (Officer Rooney), Mr. Gibbs, Lewis Armstrong; and Madelyn Harbison as Miss Witherspoon, Mr. Spenalzo and Mr. Hoskins.
ACTA Theatre is also holding auditions for “Life With Father” Feb. 25-26 at 7 p.m. Auditions will include a cold reading from the script. Resumes and head shots are welcomed but not required. The cast includes eight men, including four young men ages 8-25; and eight women, ages 16 and older. Performance dates are April 12-14 and April 19-21.
