The Crazy Horse restaurant on U.S. Highway 11 as the Argo city limits begin has added a patio that will accommodate 24 people, said owner Butch Evans.
The restaurant’s manager, Tony Green, said the screened-in panels were added recently and last week was the first week the patio was available for all-year use. The panels can be closed for fall and winter and opened for spring and summer. There is a TV for people to watch while on the patio, Green said.
Evans said there is a heater on the patio for the colder days.
“It’s nice,” Evans said of the patio.
Crazy Horse offers steaks, fresh seafood, salads, four types of potatoes and fried green tomatoes, among other items. Menu items are made to order.
“We’re just trying to bring the best quality of food out there to that area,” said Green, who is Evans’ brother-in-law
.
The restaurant opened in October 2011.
Evans said the name of the restaurant is Crazy Horse because he and his wife had their first date years ago at an establishment with the same name on Morris Avenue in Birmingham. While deciding on a name for their own restaurant, Evans’ wife suggested Crazy Horse. She has seven horses and rides them all the time.
“That’s how it came about,” Evans said.
The restaurant is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. On Thursday and Friday it’s open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Crazy Horse is open Saturday from 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. It’s closed Sunday and Monday.
