The Hewitt-Trussville Middle School cheerleaders finished fourth in the Large Junior HIgh category of the UCA National Cheerleading Competition last weekend in Orlando, Fla
.
The competition was held at Disney’s Wide World of Sports.
The team is made up of seventh- and eighth-graders. This was the first time the girls competed nationally. All teams that made it to the finals were recorded for a televised replay to be shown on ESPN in March.

Seventh-grade team members are Alex Thompson, Alexis Witcher, Ali Gossett, Annalee Abernathy, Becca Burgin, Cameron Elliott, Gracie Sisson, Holley Lisenba, Joely Burgess, Kenley Howard, Maggie Gibson, Mary Grace Laborde, Olivia DePew, Olivia Harwell, Sarah Rushing and Tate Moseley.
Eighth-grade team members are Abby Stanford, Anna Grace Rich, Catherine Bronson, Elli Bradley, Hannah Rosetta, Jordan Stewart, Kanah Howard, Rose Lambert, Sara Coshatt and Morgan Aaron.
The team is coached by Kayla Pigg. Assistant coaches are Amy Bradley and Courtney Waldrop.
