The Clay-Chalkville Middle School cheerleaders are national champions.
The team won first place in the middle school division of the Cheersport Nationals in Atlanta earlier this month
.
The team consists of 10 cheerleaders — Olivia Carty, Kristin Hendricks, Kamryn Clark, Hannah Goodwin, Hannah Roseman, Tabatha Bonds, Gracie Rosenblum, Jai Abel, Meghan Phillips and Auburn McKee.
Todd Bragan and Amy Bragan, who choreograph routines for schools, worked with the girls over the summer and were a great help, said the girls’ coach, Stephanie Wilkerson.
Wilkerson said the team is the hardest working group she’s ever met.
“I have never been more proud of a group of girls in my life,” she said.
