We reported earlier that railroad repairs will close several roads in Trussville beginning next week

This evening, Trussville police announced that Alabama Department of Transportation will also be closing lanes on Highway 11 on Tuesday.
ALDOT has planned lane closures for Geotechnical Investigation on Chalkville Road.
Trussville – Weather permitting, Tuesday March 5, beginning at 9 a.m., the Alabama Department of Transportation will perform Geotechnical Investigations on Chalkville Road. The lane closures will be as follows:
• Chalkville Road from Vann Circle to US Highway 11, in Trussville.
• Work will begin in the northbound lane followed by the southbound outside lane.
• Traffic will be alternated on the remaining open travel lane by Flagmen.
• Local Police will assist with Traffic Control.
Lane closures will be required from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., while the work is in progress.
Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this Maintenance Operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
