The artwork of second- and third-graders from Chalkville Elementary School is on display at a local bank.
The artwork of 12 students is displayed in the BBVA Compass Bank on Chalkville Mountain Road in the K-Mart shopping center in Trussville.
Second-graders Tamirah McCrary Ellington, Tyler Carswell, Reece Smith, Dyone Greene, Alexiana Humphries and Xavier Williams have cool cat artwork, made with watercolor crayons, displayed
. Their artwork is inspired by George Rodrique from Louisiana.
Third-graders Jillian Johnson, Lexie Henson, Amaya Ballard, Natalio Cruz, Mariah Jemison and Analisa Guidry have Pablo Picasso guitar artwork made with oil pastels displayed in the bank.
Chalkville Elementary School’s art teacher is Debbie Randolph. Randolph said the bank’s manager, Brenda Rogers, allowed the artwork to be displayed. Randolph also said the bank installed gallery lighting and framed the students’ artwork.
