The Hewitt-Trussville Middle School concert and symphonic bands today earned superior ratings at the Alabama Bandmasters Association Music Performance Assessment.
More than 140 Hewitt-Trussville Middle School students were involved in the performances.
The middle school concert band earned superior ratings from all three judges and a superior rating in sight-reading. The band earned an overall superior rating. The judges said the band had “very nice sounds” and a “nice attention to balance.” The judges also said the students are “well disciplined and have a great attitude.”
The symphonic band earned a superior with distinction rating, making all As in all categories. The judges said the band had “nice control and consistency of sound” and “beautiful tone qualities throughout.” The judges said the band was “awesome.”
