The Pinson Valley baseball team moved to 3-0 in the Jefferson County Tournament with a 3-2 win over Mortimer Jordan on Wednesday.
Senior Brad Eckmyre pitched a complete game, striking out seven and allowing two runs.
The Indians (9-5) travel to Pleasant Grove today for a 4:30 p.m. semifinal game.
The Hewitt-Trussville baseball team knocked off previously unbeaten Homewood, 3-2 in nine innings. Senior Jasen White knocked in the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth to lift the Huskies (7-3) past Homewood.
Hewitt-Trussville travels to historic Rickwood Field on Friday for a doubleheader against Huffman
. First pitch is at 4:30 p.m.
Clay-Chalkville lost its first two games of the Jefferson County Tournament, falling to Pinson Valley 10-6 and to Gardendale 5-3.
The Hewitt-Trussville softball team plays at Pinson Valley today at 6:30 p.m. Clay-Chalkville’s softball team hosts Gadsden City at 4:30 p.m.
The Hewitt-Trussville boys’ soccer team travels to Mountain Brook today for a 7 p.m. matchup. The Lady Huskies’ soccer team hosts Briarwood Christian on Friday at 7 p.m.
The Hewitt-Trussville boys’ golf team takes on Clay-Chalkville at Grayson Valley Country Club today.
