Hewitt-Trussville sophomore softball player Taylor Beshears has verbally committed to play at the University of Arkansas.
Beshears, a catcher and third baseman for Hewitt-Trussville, also has an offer from Samford.
Beshears, who has played softball since she was 5 or 6, said she visited seven softball camps over the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays and that Arkansas was her favorite trip.
“I like their facilities, all the coaches and the players,” Beshears said. “I just think that it’s where I want to go.”
Beshears said despite having two more seasons of high school softball after this one, she’s “pretty solid” on going to Arkansas.
“My dream is to play in the SEC,” she said.
As a freshman at Hewitt-Trussville, Beshears batted .405 and struck out just three times in 104 at-bats. She hit two grand slams.
Beshears also plays with the Birmingham Thunderbolts travel team
