The Hewitt-Trussville baseball team has moved up in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association rankings, and the Lady Huskies’ softball team has made a move into the top 10.
The baseball team is now No. 7 in the Class 6A state rankings, up from No. 8 last week. Hewitt-Trussville (17-5) returns home from the Florida/Alabama Baseball Challenge in Tallahassee, Fla., today. The Huskies host Vestavia Hills on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
The six teams ranked ahead of Hewitt-Trussville, in order, are Smiths Station, Thompson, Hoover, Huntsville, Fairhope and McGill-Toolen.
The Hewitt-Trussville softball team is now a top 10 team, ranked No. 10 in the latest ASWA Class 6A state softball rankings. The team is 16-4 and hosts Huffman today at 5 p.m. The top nine teams in Class 6A, in order, include Sparkman, Pelham, Hueytown, Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa, Vestavia Hills, Dothan, Baker, Bob Jones and Central-Phenix City

The Pinson Valley baseball team, ranked No. 9 in last week’s ASWA Class 5A rankings, fell out of the top 10 this week.
