Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood employees last weekend teamed with Clay-Chalkville High School students from their Future Business Leaders of America association to pack weekend meals for elementary students who are part of the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama’s Weekenders Backpack program.
Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood employees from the Birmingham office and FBLA students from Clay-Chalkville High School volunteered at the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama to pack almost 1,900 meals for their Weekenders Backpack program
. This program provides elementary school children whose best meals of the week are at school with important nutrition on the weekends.

Many of these kids have little to sometimes no nutritious meals when away from school. When a child is coming to school hungry Monday, they’re not worried about their school work, just getting something to eat.
