The Hewitt-Trussville Athletic Foundation is hosting its first annual cow patty drop April 20 at 4 p.m. at Jack Wood Stadium.
The event is a fundraiser for the Hewitt-Trussville athletics program. The funds raised will be used for athletics needs, including baseball facility upgrades, softball locker room improvements, soccer field light expenses, to offset camp fees for several teams and other projects.
The event is centered on where a football field is gridded off with numbered squares. One hundred squares will be sold for $100 each prior to the event
. A well-fed cow is then released on the field to do its business. When the first dropping is released from the cow, the square in which it lands first is announced as the winner.
A committee of three Hewitt-Trussville Athletic Foundation board members will determine where the patty landed. The winner will receive 20 percent of the donations received for purchased squares. With all 100 squares sold, the winner will receive ,000.
To purchase a square with your 0 donation, contact an athletic foundation board member or email Holly Pharis at holly.pharis@yahoo.com. Tickets will be sold until midnight April 13. On April 14, the numbers will be randomly entered into the grid and posted online.
Admission to the event is $5 and free to those who purchased squares.
