Hewitt-Trussville is a top-five baseball team.
The Huskies are No. 5 in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 6A state rankings, released today.
Hewitt-Trussville (18-6) was No. 8 two weeks ago and No. 7 last week. The top four teams in Class 6A, in order, are Smiths Station, Hoover, Thompson and Huntsville.

Hewitt-Trussville travels to Vestavia Hills today for a 6:30 p.m. game.
Pinson Valley (16-8) was not ranked in the top 10 of Class 5A, but came in fourth in the “others nominated” portion. The Indians have won five straight games and host Center Point at 4:30 p.m
. and Clay-Chalkville at 6:30 p.m. today.
The Hewitt-Trussville softball team held at No. 10 in the Class 6A rankings. The Lady Huskies (16-4) play at Class 5A No. 7 Mortimer Jordan today at 6 p.m.
