The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Jefferson County on Thursday.
According to the weather statement, severe thunderstorms are possible across all of Central Alabama today and tonight as a line of showers and thunderstorms move west to east across the area this afternoon and evening. Look for the activity to impact the northwest as early as 9 a.m. and last until 11 p.m. in the far southeast.
Discrete supercells may also develop during the afternoon and could impact areas along and south of a line from Demopolis to Calera to Anniston. There is still some uncertainty about the best location for the supercell development this afternoon and changes may be needed. Otherwise, damaging winds, tornadoes, flash flooding, and hail will be possible as the storm system slides through the area
