Beginning May 1, two shuttles will run each morning to the end of the school year that will take students to Paine Primary and Paine Intermediate schools, according to Trussville City Schools officials.
The shuttles will pick up students at First Baptist Church Trussville and Holy Infant of Prague Catholic Church between 7 a.m. and 7:45 a.m.
The shuttle rides are being initiated in an attempt to combat tardiness at the Paine schools.
“There is a population this will help,” said Paine Intermediate School Principal Beth Bruno.
Permission slips were sent to parents last Tuesday, and as of last Wednesday, 14 had already signed up for the service, according to Trussville City Schools Finance Director Jim Kirkland.
The one-month experiment and tardiness at the Paine schools will be reviewed to determine how tardies will be addressed next school year
