A new nonprofit Christian advocacy organization has been formed By Dr. Robert Wilkerson, religion columnist and regular contributor to The Trussville Tribune. Wilkerson will serve as president and CEO of the organization.
People for the Christian Way is dedicated to promoting the use of Christian principles, ethics, and values in all areas of life. It advocates love—not hate, peace—not war, truth—not lies, dignity—not discrimination, kindness—not meanness, tolerance—not anger, unity—not division, and loyalty to Jesus Christ above all.
“America is progressively becoming a lost nation,” Wilkerson said
. “Lost to its people and lost to God. Both major political parties are participants in a corrupted political system which has made the rich richer, the poor poorer, and eliminated the middle class. Rich corporations and individuals now run America.”
Wilkerson said he believes the U.S. is growing more pagan each day. Christian churches have lost, and continue to lose, millions of members. Due to this decline, immorality and crime have grown tremendously.
“People for the Christian Way is unique in that it welcomes any and all who care about Christ and country, and want to have a positive impact on America,” Wilkerson said. “It brings Christian perspectives to contemporary issues. It carries out its mission by writing editorials and devotions through a newspaper syndication that reaches over 100,000 print readers and approximately twice that number who read it on line.”
According to a press release, the organization provides a website which educates and informs, provides email, newsletters, and news bulletins and alerts. As opportunity affords, the organization will use both television and radio to spread the news. A speakers bureau is available to schools and civic organizations.
