CenturyLink, the primary telephone service provider in Trussville, has lost Internet service throughout the country.
A company representative reached through the customer service department at approximately 8 a.m. Tuesday said the company planned to restore service within an hour. So far, that hasn’t happened
According to the employee, the problems started Tuesday at about 7 a.m. However, many customers started noticing problems as early as Monday evening, including The Tribune office staff.
Just before 9 a.m., the company acknowledged the problems on its Facebook page, but did not give an estimated time for a resolution. The Facebook post said, “CenturyLink is currently experiencing a disruption in service. We are working to restore service as soon as possible and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. We will continue to work towards resolution until all issues are resolved.”
Messages sent to the media relations department of CenturyLink have not received a response.
