Cosby Lake Park in Clay will be the site of Central Alabama’s Rubber Duck Regatta, benefitting Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Alabama, on Saturday
.
The event starts at 10:30 a.m. with face painting, food and rides at the Marathon Foundation Family Fun Zone.
The race begins at 2 p.m.
With a $5 duck adoption, a bright yellow duck will be assigned a number. That duck will be released on the open water of Cosby Lake, with the first duck to the finish line claiming a $5,000 grand prize for the winner. Other prizes include an iPad Mini, a $200 Visa gift card, a night on the town dinner and movie package, and gift cards from Chick-fil-A, Jim N Nicks, Chipotle, Rave Motion Pictures, and more.
Ducks can be adopted individually or in groups of six, 12 or 20 with all the proceeds going to support Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Alabama Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyle, and Quality Character and Leadership programs.
