The Pinson Public Library is holding a summer reading program kickoff event Saturday.
The event will be from 10 a.m. to noon.
This year’s summer reading program theme is “Dig Into Reading,” said the library’s director, April Wallace. The library on Saturday will have a truck party, which will include all kinds of trucks and vehicles parked at the library that kids can look at up close
.
There will be a Postal Service truck, trash truck, fire truck, police car, dump truck, pink Mary Kay car and a Me Gusta food truck that will serve Mexican food.
Saturday is the first day that everyone can sign up for the summer reading program, Wallace said. There will be 37 events for various ages throughout June and July, including music, art, animal, science and circus programs.
The first 25 adults who sign up will receive a reusable bag, and the grand prize for adults at the end of July will be a Tablet.
For more information or to see a list of all summer reading program events, find the Pinson Public Library on Facebook or pick up an events calendar at the library on Main Street in Pinson.
