Trussville City Fest, which was rained out May 3-4, will be made up July 13 at The Mall in downtown Trussville, it was announced at last week’s Trussville City Council meeting.
The event was going to be made up as an indoor/outdoor event at the Trussville Civic Center the same day.
Despite City Fest being promoted as a “rain or shine” event, canceling the event last month was due to safety issues for patrons and vendors. Standing water, including some over electrical cords, as well as mud, made for a dangerous situation, according to the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce.
This was the first year the event was called City Fest, formerly called Dog Daze. “American Idol” Season 8 finalist Danny Gokey was the featured artist for this year’s event.
More information about the rescheduled event will be released as it becomes available.
