The Clay City Council last month voted to annex about 100 acres near Shadow Lake.
The property, owned by Rialto Capital Management, is approximately 107 acres of residential land and will likely be used to build new homes.
In other Clay business news, the Bar-B-Que Pit Stop on Old Springville Road is now open. The restaurant will focus on four meats — pork, brisket, ribs and chicken. There will be three or four side items on the menu.
In Trussville, Total Foot Care opened May 28 on Edwards Lake Road. On May 29, Belk at Pinnacle Square celebrated its 125th year in business, recognizing several employees who have worked at the department store for 25 years, the longest having worked there for 46 years.
The Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce helped Sam’s Club in Trussville announce the completion of renovation May 31. Store areas included in the renovation were the pharmacy, optical department, photo lab, cafe, bakery, rotisserie, meat department and tobacco department.
