Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating a fatal accident that occurred Thursday afternoon at Sweeney Hollow Road and Alabama Highway 79.
Just after 2 p.m., deputies were called to investigate a traffic accident at Sweeney Hollow Road and Alabama Highway 79, said Chief Deputy Randy Christian.
The accident involved two cars. 
One person was found to be deceased and two others suffered serious injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
The names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of family.
