Trussville police chief Don Sivley said Lifesaver was called to transport a wreck victim at around 1:15 p.m. on Saturday.
According to Sivley, a 60 year old male from Odenville lost control of the motorcycle he was driving and left the road, striking culvert near the Calumet entrance.
“Witnesses said he was weaving just before the accident,” Sivley said. “We think a large bug or bird flew into him and caused him to lose control.”
Traffic was stopped on Hwy 11 to allow the Lifesaver helicopter to land, but the roads are now clear. The victim was transported to a local trauma center and his condition is not known at this time.
