The 2013 Milkovich Wrestling Camp will be next Monday through Thursday at Hewitt-Trussville High School.
Sponsored by the Trussville Takedown Club, the camp will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. each day.
The cost is $1,200 per team or $100 per individual.
Those participating should wear shorts and a T-shirt, and bring a towel. Participants may wear their singlet and bring their wrestling shoes to change into before going on the mat. Snacks will be available for purchase, too.
All campers will receive a Milkovich camp T-shirt.
The camp is designed for high school wrestlers. All wrestlers will wrestle matches each night. Tom and Jamie Milkovich teach and correct mistakes they see each evening. In addition, Alabama Wrestling Club coaches Rod Gaddy and Jake Elkins will be in attendance to help and instruct.
Tom Milkovich was the Ohio state champion at Maple Heights High School in 1967, 1968 and 1969. He was the 142-pound weight class national champion for Michigan State University in 1972, in addition to being an All-American. He was a Big Ten champion from 1970-1974.
Tom Milkovich was the head wrestling coach at Auburn from 1977-1981 and the SEC coach of the year in 1980. In 1993, he was inducted into the Ohio Wrestling Hall of Fame. From 1997-2011, he was the head wrestling coach at Glen Oak High School and Nordonia High School.
Jamie Milkovich was the 1977 Ohio state champion for Maple Heights High School and an All-American at Auburn. He was the 1979-1980 SEC champion at Auburn and holds the record for career wins at Auburn with 98. From 1979-1981, he was the SEIWA champion at Auburn. He was inducted into the Ohio Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2003. He has been the head wrestling coach at Maple Heights High School in Ohio since 1982.
