Former Clay-Chalkville and University of Alabama football player Quinton Dial will be signing autographs July 1-2 as part of a local fundraiser.
Dial, drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the fifth round of this year’s NFL Draft, signed a four-year, $2.34 million deal with the 49ers, according to CSNBayArea.com.
The autograph signing will be at NorthPark Baptist Church on Deerfoot Parkway in Trussville both days from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
All proceeds will go toward Operation Baby-Que, a fundraiser that will help Clay residents Ashley and Norm Handley pay for in vitro fertilization treatments so the couple can start their family. More information about the Handleys can be found by finding “Operation Baby-Que” on Facebook.
Those wishing to contribute can buy a smoked Boston butt for $35. One butt will feed 12 to 18 people.
The goal, according to the Operation Baby-Que Facebook page, is to sell 500 Boston butts.
To purchase a butt, visit http://www.restorationacademy.org/#/give-now and designate your gift to “Handley Fund.” To purchase a butt, you may also mail a check to Jonny Cates at P.O. Box 403, Clay, AL 35048.
Pickup dates will be July 1-3 at NorthPark Baptist Church from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
