Eighty-eight people participated in the sixth annual golf tournament presented by the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce last month at Limestone Springs Golf Course.
All proceeds from the tournament go to fund scholarships for area high school seniors. The chamber presented four $1,000 scholarships for area seniors this year. For the first time, the scholarships are renewable for up to four years.
The foursome of Mike Milam, Barrett Milam, Chris Whitten and Paul Harris won the tournament. Harris won the prize for closest to the pin and Missy Gooden hit the longest drive.
The second-place team consisted of Jerry Wang, Gooden, Lewie Swan and Ryan Swan. Third-place team members were Jack Sittre, Jacob Sittre, Terry Crane and Patrick Crane.
A free round of golf was donated by Limestone Springs to each of the players on the first-, second- and third-place teams.
