A Clay-Chalkville High School student is one of three Alabama Health Occupations Students of America finalists.
Hannah Mariah Pate on June 27 competed in the medical reading event at the 2013 HOSA National Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tenn.
Pate competed against 140 other students that represented 51 states. Pate is the first student in the Jefferson County School System to represent Alabama State HOSA at the national level.

The purpose of the HOSA organization is to develop leadership and technical HOSA skill competencies through a program of motivation, awareness and recognitions, which is an integral part of the health science education instructional program.
The mission of HOSA is to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of all health science education students, therefore, helping the student meet the needs of the health care community.
