Longtime Birmingham television personality and Trussville resident Ken Lass will return to the airwaves later this month on WVTM-TV, according to a post on his Facebook page.
“I am now able to say that I have been blessed with the opportunity to return to Birmingham television,” Lass wrote. “Beginning later this month I will be co-hosting Daytime Alabama on Alabama’s 13. The show airs each weekday at 11:30 a.m. Even better, I get to team up again with Wendy Garner, one of my favorite people.
“Most importantly, I have no words to express my gratitude and appreciation to those of you who supported and encouraged me during this time between jobs. Your prayers were deeply felt and profoundly answered. You know who you are and you absolutely rock!”
Lass began his Birmingham broadcasting career at NBC 13 as a sports anchor, later moving to the morning show that he co-hosted with Garner. The two also co-hosted a morning show on WDJC radio.
CBS 42 brought Lass on board as the evening news anchor, adding a familiar face to the station’s news lineup in 2009. In March of this year, Lass was released by the station.
