The Trussville City Board of Education on Monday approved Lisa Berry as the new principal at Hewitt-Trussville Middle School.
Berry has been serving since last month as the interim principal at the middle school, a result of former Principal Phyllis Faust moving to the Trussville City Schools Alternative Learning Center to take the same position.
Berry, a graduate of the University of North Alabama, was a science teacher for 12 years before becoming an administrator.
Berry served as a teacher and assistant principal at Hewitt-Trussville Middle School before becoming an assistant principal at Hewitt-Trussville High School about a year and a half ago.
Berry said returning to Hewitt-Trussville Middle School is like joining her “first family” again.
Board President Bill Roberts said Berry being approved as the middle school’s principal is “well deserved.”
