A Hewitt-Trussville High School graduate last week was crowned Miss Point Mallard.
Katie Malone, a 2010 Hewitt-Trussville graduate, was crowned the pageant’s winner.
Malone earned a place in the 2014 Miss Alabama Pageant to be held at Samford University next year.
Malone last month finished as a semifinalist in the 2013 Miss Alabama Pageant, finishing in the top 11 with fellow Trussville native Jordan Dailey.
Malone competed as Miss North Jefferson Area this year, her third Miss Alabama Pageant.
Malone’s platform this year was the Ronald McDonald House, an organization that makes certain that children who are going through medical hardships are close to their families during their stay at Children’s Hospitals all over the world.
Trussville native Elisabeth Chramer finished as the Miss Point Mallard Pageant’s second runner-up.
