The fourth-grade Alabama Twisters basketball team placed second in the AAU Division II National Championship in Orlando July 2-7.
The team posted a 6-1 record in Orlando.
The Alabama Twisters won the state AAU championship in May.

The team is comprised of players from Trussville, Clay, Helena, Homewood, Mountain Brook and Prattville.
The team consists of Molly Keller, Lillie Gilbert, Amiya Payne, Raines Manly, Gabriella Ramirez, Anna Grace Gibbons, Kate Jeffcoat, Brinley Cassell and Jessica Powell. The head coach is Lee Payne, the assistant coach is Patrick Powell and Jackie Powell serves as scorekeeper.
