A Clay-Chalkville rising junior pitcher has garnered his first collegiate scholarship offer.
Matthew Calvert Tweeted on Tuesday night that he has been offered by Florida International University in Miami.

The 6-foot-1, left-handed Calvert pitched his way to a 9-1 record as a sophomore, a season in which Clay-Chalkville posted a 26-10 record and won the Class 6A, Area 13 championship.
The Cougars were eliminated by Grissom in the first round of the Class 6A state playoffs.
