The Program of Academic Exchange is again facilitating local hosting for several international student ambassadors from the U.S. State Department leadership programs in Trussville.
This is the fourth year that Hewitt-Trussville High School will include the students from these programs, which are designed to build bridges of understanding among the youth of many nations while teaching leadership skills, global citizenship, volunteerism and community improvement to all students.
These young ambassadors may compete against tens of thousands of other high school students in their home countries to be selected to participate in merit-based scholarship programs.
There are also hosting opportunities available for young leaders. Host families and classmates are eligible to participate and earn Presidential Volunteer Service Award hours with the student ambassadors.
