The notice of Pinson Valley rising junior running back Nick Gibson continues to grow.
Gibson was ranked as the No. 179 player in the 2015 ESPN Junior 300 list, released last week by ESPN. The national rankings provide a look at the best high school rising junior football players in the country.
Gibson is rated as a four-star player by the ESPN rankings. He carries an 80 rating out of 100.
The ESPN rankings list the 5-foot-10, 191-pound Gibson as the 14th-best junior running back prospect in the country and the seventh-ranked overall player in the state of Alabama.
Gibson holds scholarship offers from Arkansas, Florida State, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Tennessee. He has camped at Alabama and Auburn this month.
Gibson has rushed 203 times for 1,519 yards in his two-year Pinson Valley career thus far. He has rushed for 13 touchdowns. As a sophomore, he caught 15 passes for 260 yards and three scores.
In Pinson Valley’s May spring football game at Clay-Chalkville, Gibson rushed 16 times for 68 yards and two touchdowns in one half. He also caught three passes for 33 yards in the half, a 27-14 loss to the Cougars.
