You sleep, you laugh, you cry, but why? What controls that? How does it work? Have you ever given thought to the fact that there is a system that processes everything you do in life? We all have something we live our experiences in life through. The answer lies in a system that our Creator gave us. A system that controls everything you and I do. This system is the central nervous system.
The nervous system, from the day you are born to the day you die, processes every single thing you do and every single thing you feel. This special system is composed of your brain, spinal cord and nerves, and they are involved in every detail, small and large.
So how does the system work?
This is how I like to explain it: When you taste a wonderful drink or food, when you watch a movie that makes you sad, when you hear a baby laugh and your heart swells with joy, when you see a sunset and you get a warm smile, when you are happy, when you are tired, when you are hungry, when you are angry, and when you are tired, your nervous system has processed it all. The nervous system processes each experience through your five senses, through your brain and through your nervous system. Then you react to the experiences.
Your brain tells your body what to do, and then you move, you grin, your stomach growls, you salivate, you smile, you heal. Your central nervous system controls every other system in your body. Through your brain, spinal cord and nerves, your liver, lungs, heart, kidneys, spleen, bladder, and immune system are all controlled. Nothing in your body works without your nervous system controlling it.
There is then a question you can ask yourself. Because the nervous system is the control center in your body, and you live your life through this system, how important is it to maintain a healthy nervous system from this day through the rest of your life?
I hope you, like most of the patients I see, find it vitally important. Without a healthy functioning nervous system, you cannot be all that you were created to be. Without a healthy functioning nervous system, you cannot do all that you were created to do. You have a special calling. Make sure you are taking care of yourself and your central nervous system so that you can answer.
