Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies have located a dementia patient missing since around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The woman’s husband discovered her missing and deputies were called just after 4:30 a.m. Wednesday to a residence in the 1700 block of Creely Drive in Grayson Valley.
The husband described his wife to deputies as 72 years old and wearing dark blue pajamas. He told them that she suffered from dementia and had wandered from the home on previous occasions, said Chief Deputy Randy Christian.
The initial responding deputy looked around the residence but due to heavy fog was unable to locate her. A lookout bulletin was issued to other deputies and a K-9 was dispatched to aid in the search, Christian said.
The missing woman was located just before 5 a.m. walking around the property of the nearby Grayson Valley Country Club.
She was unharmed but disoriented, Christian said.
“She was taken back to her residence and reunited with her family,” Christian said.
