Improvements are being made to Cougar Stadium at Clay-Chalkville High School.
Work includes the repair of the storm water drains, replacement of fences, regrading and top dressing the main football field and hydroseeding areas on the practice field, according to Jefferson County Schools New Construction Department Director Rafael McDaniel.
McDaniel said the Jefferson County Board of Education is committing approximately $48,500 to correct the problems on the football field. The work is being performed by ClementsDean Contractors, he said.
All improvements are expected to be complete prior to the upcoming football season. Clay-Chalkville hosts rival Hewitt-Trussville on Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. in the first game of the season.
