The Cahaba River Fry-Down was approved as a citywide event by the Trussville City Council on Tuesday night.
The fry-down will be Sept. 29 from noon to 4 p.m. at Trussville Springs off U.S. Highway 11 in Trussville.
This is the fourth year for the fry-down, put on by the city of Trussville and the Cahaba River Society.
The event will feature a variety of educational and recreational activities, as well as a “beer garden” featuring local breweries for attendees ages 21 and older.
The city of Trussville supports the event as an “opportunity to showcase the natural beauty of the Cahaba River in Trussville, Alabama, to educate attendees on the biodiversity and preservation of the river, and to welcome visitors to our community,” according to the approved proclamation.
