The Trussville City Board of Education on Monday approved third-party geotechnical observation and material testing for the Hewitt-Trussville Stadium site.
The board approved Terracon at a cost of $117,000 to perform the work, which includes concrete strength testing, geotechnical testing and more. The work will be done in phases to coincide with the construction of the stadium, said Trussville City Schools Facilities Coordinator Barry Davis.
The Trussville City Board of Education has until Aug. 30 to sign a contract with Blalock Building Company to construct the stadium. The board approved Blalock as the builder last month. The new stadium is expected to open for the 2014 high school football season.
