A large wild pig was killed in a hit-and-run just north of Pinson Valley High School this morning.
Clay City Manager Ronnie Dixon said he was driving on Alabama Highway 75 on his way to work at about 6:50 a.m. when he saw a couple cars pulled over near the pig’s carcass. Dixon pulled over, put on his flashers, and helped drag the pig out of the road. None of the other cars were the ones that struck the pig, Dixon said.

Dixon said he and a couple others estimated the pig’s weight to be about 300 pounds.
“It was big,” he said.
The pig was hit on the northbound side Alabama Highway 75 near Marsh Mountain Road, Dixon said.
