The city of Trussville will be shaking up its recycling pickup when a new contract begins Dec. 1, Mayor Gene Melton said.
Melton said a new contract that will go out for bid will include recyclable garbage being picked up once per week. Recycling is currently picked up every other week in Trussville.
Melton said that 60-gallon rollout recycling carts, complete with lids so recycled newspapers don’t get wet, will be provided.
Waste Management currently holds a contract with the city for garbage collection.
