Hewitt-Trussville senior defensive end Austin Wysor committed Thursday night to play college football at Mercer University in Georgia.
Wysor also had scholarship offers from UAB and Austin Peay.

“I chose (Mercer) mainly because of how beautiful the campus is and the academics there,” Wysor said. “The facilities are brand new and look great. Also, the coaching staff there made the greatest effort out of any college to show that they were interested in me.”
Through three games this season, Wysor has nine tackles, four tackles for loss, one fumble recovery and one interception.
