Clay-Chalkville remains No. 2 in this week’s Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 6A poll.
Clay-Chalkville (4-0, 3-0 Class 6A, Region 7) has been No. 2 for the length of this young season. The Cougars received two first-place votes. Hoover, with 29 first-place votes, remains the top team in Class 6A.

The rest of the top 10 in Class 6A in order includes McGill-Toolen, Opelika, Vestavia Hills, Bob Jones, Smiths Station, Auburn, Carver-Montgomery, and Shades Valley and Tuscaloosa County tied for 10th.
Neither Hewitt-Trussville (2-2, 2-1 Class 6A, Region 6) nor Pinson Valley (Class 5A, Region 6) received votes for top 10 consideration in Class 6A and Class 5A, respectively.
