The fourth annual Cahaba River Fry-Down is this weekend in Trussville.
The fry-down is Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. at Trussville Springs off U.S. Highway 11. The fry-down was approved as a citywide event by the Trussville City Council last month.
This is the fourth year for the fry-down, put on by the city of Trussville and the Cahaba River Society.
The family friendly event will feature a variety of educational and recreational activities, as well as a “beer garden” featuring local breweries for attendees ages 21 and older.

The city of Trussville supports the event as an “opportunity to showcase the natural beauty of the Cahaba River in Trussville, Alabama, to educate attendees on the biodiversity and preservation of the river, and to welcome visitors to our community,” according to the approved proclamation.
More than 600 people attended last year’s fry-down.
