ACTA Theater’s fall show, “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” begins this weekend in Trussville.
Based on the classic story by C.S. Lewis, “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” is a visually spectacular journey. Fantasy, adventure and mystery await four siblings when they step through the wardrobe and into the magical land of Narnia, where the icy White Witch rules, and her curse ensures that the land is always crusted with snow.
As they travel, the children encounter dwarfs, fawns and the great lion king, Aslan. Together, they seek to fulfill the ancient prophecy and release Narnia from the Witch’s enchantment and her spell of eternal winter.
Show dates are Oct. 4-6 and Oct. 12-13. Adult ticket prices are $12, students and children are $8, and seniors are $10. To reserve a ticket or for more information, call ACTA Theater at 205-655-3902.
Auditions for ACTA Theater’s production of “Madeline’s Christmas” will be Oct. 14-15 at 6:30 p.m. at the theater.
The cast will include 12 young girls of varying ages (6 to 15), the nun in charge of the school (age 20 to 50), male school teacher, female housekeeper (any age) and several other roles.
Actors should come with a snapshot of themselves, 16 bars of an upbeat song with music (accompanist will be provided, no recorded accompaniment) and a short monologue.
Show dates are Dec. 6-7 and Dec. 13-14 at 7 p.m., and Dec. 8 and Dec. 15 at 2:30 p.m. For more information, contact Suellen Wilkins at 205-655-2712 or the theater at 205-655-3902.
